Updates Coming Soon For Built-In App of Windows 8

windows appsThe communication apps are being upgraded by Microsoft. These include apps for mail, calendar as well as people. The new built-in apps lack functionality on a significant level as per a recent review. Also there performance was poor on the Surface RT Tablet. Microsoft would soon take required steps to resolve these issues.

The changes being made:

  • MAIL:
    The updates have incorporated few features as well as functionality that actually were required in the first release itself. It includes creation of folders, deleting as well as renaming is possible. Also a filter will highlight all the unread messages. Mails would sync faster now and in the most reliable way. The updated version would support flagging, with a filter to view the flagged mails separately. Many other improvements related to composing, drafting, and deleting the messages has been made.
    A lot of improvements have been made to the calendar. New work week, current time & week view are now displayed. Forwarding meeting invitations & checking the availability of the attendees is now possible. Google sync support has been removed from the calendar.
    A new filter has been introduced to control the new feed contents. Better navigation is allowed now. You would be able to post directly on the wall of your friend. Microsoft is building GAL for its business users.

The mailing updates will bring a significant improvement in the Windows 8 apps.
