Microsoft Store Is Cutting Down the Prices of Windows 8 Tablets

windows-8-tabletHuge decrease in the price (MRP) has been done by Microsoft recently. They slashed the prices of some models of their laptop-tablet hybrids. The highlights that can be seen on the “Tablets & convertibles” page of the Microsoft store are as follows:

  • Price of Toshiba Satellite U925t-S2130 Convertible Ultrabook has been cut down by $350 which makes it worth $799 only. It has 12.5″ LED screen with a Core i5 Intel chip. It also has a SSD of 128 GB
  • Acer Iconia W510-1674 Tablet has a10.1 inch display and a 32 GB SSD. Its price has been decreased from $499 to $399. It works on Intel Atom 1.8 GHz, Cover Trial, Z2760 chip
  • Prices have been cut down to $599 that was $849 earlier for the HP ENVY x 2 11-g012nr Touch-Screens. An 11.6 inch screen with Intel Atom 1.8GHz Cover Trail Z2760 chip and consists of a 64GB SSD
  • For Samsung ATIV smart PC pro 700T Tablet, the price was $1,199. But now it is $999. With SSD of 128GB, this 11.6-inch screen comprise of a Core i5 Intel chip

The question is whether this price reduction is only for models that aren’t in much demand or for all other products also. The reduced sale of Windows 8 PC is creating a lot of doubts on the price cutting measure of Microsoft.
